The Tactical Trauma Dressing, Israeli Bandage is an effective 4 inch bandage designed to control severe hemorrhaging due to a traumatic event such as from a gunshot wound or deep cut from a knife attack. I consider this dressing an integral component of my first aid kit to address bleeding and I keep two in my kit. I also recommend the use of a blood clotting agent such as QuickClot or Celox to assist with the control of a severe hemorrhage. If bleeding cannot be controlled I recommend use of the New Military Issue Combat Application Tourniquet, CAT.Reasons why I like the Tactical Trauma Dressing, Israeli Bandage : + It can be applied one handed for self treatment for those times where you might be separated from your group or alone in the wilderness while hiking, backpacking, camping or hunting. Most first aid kits, when you look at the number of parts, are mostly made up of a big hand full of bandaids. Bandaids are great for very minor cuts or scrapes. All of the commercially available kits that I have seen are entirely inadequate for anything more. So I compile my own first aid/ trauma kits. These bandages are a key component. I suggest watching the videos on how to use them on u-tube. They are versitile, effective, and easy to use. And what's more, they are an essential part of any serious aid kit. The first ones of these I bought a few years ago, I paid about $10 each. This particular vendor here, sells them for a fraction of that. They all came sealed and in great shape. I am not in a hurry, so I used the slow shipment approach, which took a few weeks. But I knew that up front and am totally ok with it. I recommend this whole heartedly. I suggest ordering extras for training purposes. |
